Possible Missions? A discussion we are having.

Unless a church is actively Ministering to it’s surrounding community it’s mission is incomplete. In addition to the support we give to other local ministries and to our own members, we are looking to develop new missions. Here are possibilities we are discussing:

1. Support for Older People in the Community: contacting/visiting, providing a meal, hosting a community meal with a program, identifying other needs.
2. “Know your Neighborhood”: an annual program series introducing newcomers to the unique history and services and beauty of this area.
3. Life support for Parents with young children: research the needs, what’s available, fill a gap.

We have excellent facilities for meetings and meals which we are not now using. We need to grow, though, to have the people we need to accomplish these ideas.
